Canarderie de la ronde

Canarderie de la Ronde's 120-hectare estate is home to mallard ducks produced by egg propagation.

Only a few months are needed to ensure an annual campaign, and the rest of the time the estate and its ponds are in a phase of regeneration (at rest). The nitrogen produced by the birds is absorbed by the plants, fish and molluscs present in the ponds before the next campaign.

A perfect balance for this natural habitat. All effluent from a campaign is recycled on farmland, absorbing excess nitrogen and minerals, but also providing the oxygen needed for degradation by the micro-organisms present in the soil.

This natural complement to the production contributes greatly to the operation of the cereal farm.

When the birds return to the farm, they receive seeds to supplement their diet and straw to keep them comfortable for the following season.

Once again, a perfect balance between the birds' natural habitat and their environmental interaction.
